Growth Scan III

We went in today for our monthly growth scan. All the family was there and our special guest was Aunt Sandra. She was able to see the babies and the boys were so happy to see her.

The scan lasted 2.5 hours, the boys were pretty antsy and it was tough to stay in the room for them. To make it a little trickier we were in a room the size of a closet. It was not the normal spacious room, but seriously a room that looked like a tiny closet. So there was my husband, our two boys, myself, Aunt Sandra and the ultrasonographer all in a tiny room. It was pretty hot in there. It was out first visit to their north campus and I like the other location much better. It seems to be ran much more smoother and their customer service is better. Our ultrasonographer was fantastic though, she was so sweet, interactive and an all around lovely gal.

All babies looked good. Their growth and anatomy all looked good. My cervix is holding strong at a bit over 5 cm. Here are the measurements for the babies:

Baby A (girl): 1lb 14 ounces
Baby B (girl): 1lb 13 ounces
Baby C (boy): 1lb 12 ounces

We found out as long as babies and my body stay healthy and happy we can go to 36 weeks. They say that rarely happens. I can hope though.

It was a fun day!

Frazier Triplets

Hello,

Our story begins 12 years ago when I fell in love with the most amazing man. We had a son in 2005 and another son in 2008. We were planning on having another child so I started working at getting into better shape. I started a running class and a vinyasa power yoga class. Life was going on like always. Then one night I was out to dinner with my 2 boys and my 2 brothers. My brothers were talking about my husband and saying he is a great guy and how calm he was. Then my youngest brother said "well I know how to make him run, get pregnant with triplets and see what he does". I thought to myself wait I may need a pregnancy test. So that night I bought one and a few days later we found out we were pregnant. We were so excited to be pregnant with out third child.

The pregnancy progressed without incident. I noticed I my belly was getting larger much faster this time. I figured it was because I had two previous children.

We went to have a nuchal translucency test on March 24th. The whole family went, my husband and our two boys. We went in for the ultrasound and the technician put the transducer on my belly immediately on the screen we saw two dark circles with a head in each. We were shocked, it was twins! My husband and I had a moment and figured we can do it, how exciting. My husband was a bit shocked and distracted with our sons. I looked at the screen and saw three dark circles then I looked at the ultrasonographer; his mouth was gaped open and his eyes bulging. I said is that what it looks like, he said "yes". I told him to hurry and check to make sure everyone looks good before we tell my husband. I then started to cry out of fear and excitement. We were having triplets!! Amazing, never ever would I have imagined that. The triplets are spontaneous which means we did not use any medications or methods to try and have more than one child. They each have their own placenta and gestational sac. They are most likely fraternal, so my body released three eggs that were fertilized and implanted.

It was a wild day. We were in shock for several days. We went from a family of 4 to a family of 7 in just a few minutes.

We are so excited about our journey. Thank you for visiting.
