I just discovered your blog :) It had been a delight to read some of the articles you've been posting! Very recognizable because I myself am a mama-of-three :) In febrauri our triplets were born and so they are about 20 weeks old. We have two boys and a girl. It's amazing isn't it? Unlike you we have no other children; it seems more quiet than your family ;) But still, we are busy bees just like you!
I read you ask for help frequently. In my country (the Netherlands) there are young students (about 16-18 years old) who, when they graduate, are a so called 'certified help' in elderly homes, daycares or large (problematic) families. Mainly they are being helpfull in the household. They learn how to make beds, cook, clean, etc! I'm afraid I don't know the proper terms for this grade, but I think you know what I am talking about.
We phoned the school in our hometown and asked if we could take a girl in for a few months. Like an intership (I don't know the right word here either?). And they adgreed. So for the last three months we've had a 17-year old girl twice a week for a whole day, for free!! She was SO helpful. She loved hanging around with the babies, giving them bottles, helping them bath,...etc. And in between the feedings she cleaned the whole house, did the laundry, went to the store, cooked an enormous amount of food (which I divided into portions for us in the freezer) and she even helped pushing a stroller so we could go outside every time.
I just thought that it might be something interesting for you? One tip: be smart and let the girls do interviews with you, that way you know what girl you'll have. And make some good arrangements with the school. I had to give her my evaluation from time to time and you'll need soms assistence with that (a map with forms or whatsoever).
